Booking, Payment, Cancellation and Security Deposit Terms

These Terms and Conditions govern bookings made through the website for the short-term rental properties offered by the operator.

The properties currently offered are:

• Villa Vanille
• Maison Blanche

These Terms and Conditions govern, in particular:

• booking procedures;
• payment terms;
• additional fees;
• the security deposit;
• cancellation and refund conditions.

Any booking made through the website constitutes a request to reserve the selected stay for the chosen dates.

A booking shall only be considered confirmed once:

• full payment has been received; or
• the booking deposit has been received where this option is offered; or
• in the case of a bank transfer, once the operator has manually confirmed receipt of the funds.

Until the required payment has been received or confirmed, the selected dates are not guaranteed and remain subject to availability.

At the time of booking, the guest may, depending on the options made available on the website:

• pay 100% of the stay; or
• pay a 40% booking deposit of the total accommodation amount.

If the guest chooses to pay the deposit only, the remaining balance must be paid in accordance with the instructions communicated by the operator prior to arrival.

The payment methods currently offered are:

• PayPal
• Bank transfer in USD

Mandatory cleaning fees are added at the time of booking.

They are set as follows:

• Villa Vanille: USD 450
• Maison Blanche: USD 250

These fees are payable in addition to the rental price.

A security deposit, separate from the rental price, is required upon the guest’s arrival. It is taken in the form of a card imprint (pre-authorisation) using the operator’s payment terminal. No amount is charged at that stage; the imprint only guarantees the possible recovery of damages noted at check-out.

If the guest paid for the stay by bank transfer, the guest agrees to present a valid credit card on arrival for the imprint.

The security deposit amount is set as follows:

• Villa Vanille: USD 800
• Maison Blanche: USD 500

The purpose of the security deposit is to cover:

• any damage;
• breakage;
• loss;
• exceptional expenses;
• or any breach of the house rules or stay conditions.

If no damage or additional charges are identified at check-out, no amount will be charged and the card imprint is released automatically by the issuing bank within its usual timeframes (typically 7 to 31 days depending on the bank).

If any damage or additional costs are identified, all or part of the security deposit may be charged to the card used for the imprint, subject to reasonable justification by the operator.

The guest is informed, prior to confirming the booking, of the applicable cancellation conditions.

Unless otherwise stated at the time of payment, the following terms shall apply:

a) Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival

Amounts paid may be refunded in accordance with the commercial conditions displayed at the time of booking, possibly less administrative or banking fees.

b) Cancellation between 30 and 14 days before arrival

The 40% booking deposit is non-refundable and shall be retained.

c) Cancellation less than 14 days before arrival

No refund of the booking deposit shall be due. If the full stay has already been paid, any refund of the amount paid above the deposit shall remain at the operator’s discretion, in particular if the dates are rebooked.

d) No-show

In the event of a no-show on the scheduled arrival date, no refund shall be due.

e) Early departure

In the event of early departure, unused nights are non-refundable.

f) Cancellation by the operator

If the operator cancels the booking before arrival, all amounts paid by the guest shall be refunded in full.

Where the guest chooses payment by bank transfer:

• the booking shall be recorded as pending payment;
• USD bank transfer instructions shall be provided to the guest;
• any bank charges, intermediary bank fees and foreign exchange fees shall be borne by the guest;
• the booking shall only become final once the funds have been effectively received and manually validated by the operator;
• a valid credit card must be presented on arrival for the security deposit card imprint.

The operator shall not be held liable for interbank delays, intermediary bank deductions, or transfer errors made by the guest.

Where payment is made via PayPal, the booking is subject to successful payment authorization and confirmation by PayPal.

In the event of failed, refused or cancelled PayPal payment, the booking cannot be confirmed.

All prices, cleaning fees, booking deposits and security deposits are expressed in USD.

Any costs relating to:

• exchange rates;
• bank fees;
• card fees;
• PayPal fees;
• or intermediary bank charges,

shall be borne by the guest, unless expressly stated otherwise.

By making a booking through the website, the guest acknowledges that they have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions prior to confirming the booking or submitting the reservation request.
